Ukrainian Institute supports the Malevich Award for Ukrainian Artists

The Malevich Award was established in 2008 by the Polish Institute in Kyiv in collaboration with Ukrainian partners. Ten years ago the Malevich Award became the first award for Ukrainian practitioners in contemporary art.
The award is presented to artists aged below 40 who were born in Ukraine, regardless of their current place of residence, for their contribution to the contemporary art development, in particular for the quality, mastery, achievements and significance of their works.
Candidates for the award may be nominated by Ukrainian and foreign cultural institutions, scientific centers, artistic associations, galleries and museums (one person per organisation).

The jury selects the winner by simple majority of votes through secret ballot on the eve of the Grand Ceremony. The Ceremony will take place on November 15, 2018 in the IZONE creative space.

With the support of the Ukrainian Institute the winner of the Malevich Award 2018 receives the residence in the Center for Contemporary Art "Ujazdowski Castle" in Warsaw in 2019.
