The sixth Ukrainian film festival UKRAINA! Festiwal Filmowy 2021 starts in Warsaw, Poland on November 11

The Polish Ukrainian Film festival will take place in a hybrid form this year:   

  • offline on November 12-18 in the cinema Kinoteka (The Palace of Culture and Science) in Warsaw  
  • online on November 11-21 via the website   

 

Short replicas (festival mini-versions) will be held in other Polish cities.  

  

This year the Ukrainian Institute cooperates with the festival for the third time and for the second time becomes its partner for spreading knowledge about modern Ukraine and Ukrainians through film screenings and online meetings with their creators.    

 

The festival programme included 54 Ukrainian films, such as: “Rhino” (Oleh Sentsov), “Blindfold” (Taras Dron), “Stop Zemlia” (Kateryna Gornostai), “Bad roads” (Natalya Vorozhbit), “U311 Cherkasy” (Tymur Yashchenko), “Rival” (Marcus Lenz), “I work at the cemetery” (Oleksii Taranenko), “This rain will never stop” (Alina Gorlova), “Ivan’s Land” (Andrii Lysetskyi), “Salt from Bonneville” (Simon Mozgovyi), “Inner wars” (Masha Kondakova), “The earth is blue as an orange” (Iryna Tsilyk), “Roses. Film Cabaret” (Irena Stetsenko).   

  

11 animated films from international film festival LINOLEUM as well as Kira Muratova’s retrospective film programme (“Brief Encounters”, “The Long Farewell”, “The Asthenic Syndrome”, “Eternal Return”), the movie “The White Bird Marked with Black” and 4 animated short films for children will be also screened at the festival. 

This year the festival added to the programme the Ukrainian short film contest, which included 21 films. During the festival the other activities will take place — film discussions with their creators, thematic discussions with experts, exhibition, performance and musical programme.
