Ukrainian Program at the Festival 

This year’s festival program featured the documentary INTERCEPTED by director Oksana Karpovych. The film is part of the Generation Ukraine project, implemented by the Ukrainian Institute in cooperation with the Franco-German TV channel ARTE. INTERCEPTED received special mentions at the Berlinale Forum / Forum Expanded 2024 and BAFICI in Buenos Aires, and its director was honoured with the SIGNIS Award. As part of the festival in Brazil, special screenings of the film were held, followed by discussions with Oksana Karpovych. 

Ukrainian Filmmakers at RioMarket 

The participation of Ukrainian professionals in the RioMarket film industry section enabled the organization of a panel discussion on international co-production in filmmaking. Screenwriter and producer Daria Onyshchenko shared Ukraine’s experience in international cooperation and outlined potential opportunities for joint projects with Brazilian filmmakers. 

Private Screening of Malevich 

One of the key events was a private screening of the film Malevich, organized with the support of the Embassy of Ukraine in Brazil (Embaixada da Ucrânia no Brasil). The event spurred further discussions on Ukrainian approaches to international co-production and collaboration in the field of cinema.
