To mark the 130th anniversary of the birth of the prominent Ukrainian composer Borys Liatoshynsky, the Ukrainian Institute presents the Anthology of Ukrainian Chamber Music, namely the complete string quartets of the composer. The edition includes the scores of six works.
The anthology features both the composer’s version of the parts and an exclusive performance edition prepared by the Ukrainian ensemble NotaBene Chamber Group.
The musicological commentary for this edition was prepared by musicologist Mariam Verdiian. The annotation provides an overview of the composer’s biography and the period of work on the string quartets, which spanned from 1914 to 1944.
The anthology, published in 2024 by the Kharkiv-based publishing house ASSA, has a print run of 300 copies and is intended for free distribution. The collection can be ordered by conductors, orchestra managers, concert hall and festival managers, performing musicians, researchers, teachers, students of music institutions, representatives of cultural organisations, and libraries.
