Wintertuinfestival is an annual literary festival based in Nijmegen that presents contemporary literature within a broad cultural context. Its programme brings together established writers and emerging voices and includes literary conversations, readings, interviews, performances and interdisciplinary formats. The festival creates space for experimentation, reflection and exchange between authors and audiences. 

As part of the festival programme, Andriy Lyubka joined a conversation with translator Roman Nesterenko, reflecting on his literary path, writing amid war and uncertainty, and the role of literature in shaping individual and collective experience. The discussion took place within the framework of the festival’s overarching theme, Contemporaries, which explores what it means to share the same historical moment and how language and storytelling help us make sense of the world today.
