The event was organised within the programme of the Ukrainian Pavilion, which traditionally presents Ukraine’s environmental initiatives and its contribution to global discussions on sustainable development.

COP30 is one of the key international platforms where nearly all countries of the world come together to make multilateral decisions on addressing the consequences of the climate crisis. In this context, the film screening served as a tool of cultural diplomacy and a means of engaging an international audience in discussions on environmental challenges through the language of documentary cinema.

The film Divia was presented to a broad audience of conference participants, including representatives of governments, international experts, environmental organisations, as well as business and civil society. The film drew attention to the importance of responsible environmental stewardship and highlighted the role of culture in shaping environmental awareness.

Following the screening, a brief presentation was delivered by the film’s producers, Polina German and Gleb Lukyanets. They spoke about the process of creating Divia, its artistic and documentary approaches, as well as the film’s relevance for international dialogue on environmental protection and for understanding ecological transformations in a global context.

The inclusion of Ukrainian documentary films in the COP30 programme underscores the role of culture as an important tool for international communication and contributes to promoting Ukraine’s experience and perspectives in the field of sustainable development on a broader scale.
