On March 28, 2026, she participated in a 60-minute panel discussion titled “The Female Gaze: Women’s Perspectives in Literature” at the University of KwaZulu-Natal. The discussion focused on how literature written by women reflects lived experience, explores identity, and shapes narrative voice through an inward-looking perspective.

As part of the broader festival programme, the participating authors also visited a correctional facility, where they met with women inmates. During the visit, participants shared their own writings, while the authors presented excerpts from their works. This exchange created a space for dialogue and reflection, highlighting the role of literature as a tool for expression and connection.

The festival also provided opportunities for professional exchange and networking with writers from different countries.

According to Natalka Sniadanko, an important part of her participation was bringing Ukrainian perspectives into an international context:
“It was important for me to highlight the geopolitical context and Ukrainian realities. I hope this message came across.”

This type of engagement allows not only to present contemporary Ukrainian literature, but also to place it in dialogue with countries that have their own complex historical and political trajectories. In the context of South Africa, such exchange gains particular depth, opening space for reflecting on memory, identity and the role of literature in society.
