Open Call: Emerging Voices — Ukrainian Composer at Gaudeamus
Gaudeamus Festival (Utrecht) — one of Europe’s leading festivals for new music, dedicated to supporting young composers and the creation of new works — in partnership with the Internationale Ensemble Modern Akademie (IEMA-Ensemble) and the Ukrainian Institute in the Netherlands, announces an open call for emerging Ukrainian composers.
We invite composers to create a new work for IEMA-Ensemble, to be performed at the Gaudeamus Festival in September 2026. The selected composer will work closely with the ensemble through working sessions and rehearsals, culminating in a world premiere in Utrecht.
Application deadline: 15 April 2026 (12:00 CET)
Eligibility:
— composers born after 1 January 1994
— residing in Ukraine or Europe
— with a working knowledge of English
The selected composer will receive:
— coverage of travel and accommodation costs
— a stipend of €1500
Working sessions and rehearsals will take place in Frankfurt. The premiere is scheduled for 11 September 2026 at the Gaudeamus Festival (Utrecht, the Netherlands).
