Open Call for the Winter Classical Music Festival in Campos do Jordão
The Brazilian partner organization of the Ukrainian Institute – Fundação OSESP (The São Paulo State Symphony Orchestra Foundation) – has announced the opening of registration for the residency program of the 55th Winter Festival in the city of Campos do Jordão (São Paulo State, Brazil). This festival is one of the most prestigious classical music events on the continent.
Registration is open from May 12 to May 19, 2025, via the official festival website. A mandatory part of the application is submitting a video link with recorded excerpts of musical pieces, uploaded to the applicant’s personal YouTube profile.

The month-long program, running from July 5 to August 3, 2025, includes group rehearsals, mentorship, chamber music training, orchestra rehearsals, and specialized masterclasses in São Paulo. Participants will also take part in concerts throughout the state of São Paulo, including in Campos do Jordão.
Musicians aged 16–30 and conductors and vocalists aged 16–35 are invited to apply. The program offers 6 scholarships for conductors and 141 scholarships for musicians, including 6 for pianists and 6 for guitarists. A full list of conditions and scholarships can be found at the link.
All selected international candidates will receive a scholarship to cover accommodation, transport, and meal expenses. The scholarship amount is 6,000 BRL (approximately 1,150 USD).
In some cases, the organizing committee may recommend covering additional travel expenses to Brazil for selected participants.
Founded in 1970 at the initiative of prominent Brazilian maestros Eleazar de Carvalho, Camargo Guarnieri, and Souza Lima, the Campos do Jordão Winter Festival has long been recognized as a landmark event in Latin America’s classical music scene. For over 50 years, the festival has offered scholarships to young musicians, giving them the unique opportunity to study with renowned masters and perform in a professional setting.
This year, 141 scholarships will be available to both Brazilian and international artists. Registration will be conducted online from May 12 to May 19 via the festival’s official website.
The event is organized by the São Paulo State Symphony Orchestra Foundation and the Secretariat of Culture, Economy, and Creative Industries of the State of São Paulo.
