c/o Pop is the city’s annual music festival and music convention, which takes place in Cologne, Germany and gathers about 30,000 visitors every year. In addition to showcases and concerts, c/o Pop hosts a conference for music industry professionals. On April 25 and 26, 2024, two packed days of the conference are planned, with numerous panel discussions, receptions, workshops and networking with representatives of the German music industry. 

Open call for participation in the c/o Pop music convention will last until March 10, 2024. Public announcement of the results of the open call will take place on the official website and social media pages of the Ukrainian Institute no later than March 18, 2024. 

Logistic costs and participation in the event will be covered by the Ukrainian Institute. 

Applicants must meet the following technical criteria: 

• the activities and position of the applicants do not contradict the principles and values of the Ukrainian Institute;   
• all applicants are of legal age;   
• all applicants have Ukrainian citizenship and live in Ukraine or if they are outside the borders of Ukraine, they confirm that the crossing of the state border of Ukraine (in particular, in the conditions of martial law) was carried out in accordance with the current legislation of Ukraine and that they are abroad legally; 
• English proficiency at level B2 or higher; 
• have proven experience in the music industry; 
• provided a scanned copy of the passport and certificate;   
• confirm readiness for public communication and presentation of their practices with participation in the event.   

Applications meeting the technical criteria will be evaluated against the following qualifying criteria:  

• The applicant has previous international events, projects where Germany is an important partner or focus market; 
• The applicant works with artists who: 

• have at least one foreign concert in the last 3 years; 
• have a contract with a foreign or Ukrainian music label; 
• have a professional team in the domestic market (manager/agent/booking manager).; 
• have a professional team with international contacts. 

Compliance with the qualification criteria is assessed by a specialist in the programme department of the Ukrainian Institute together with the showcase partner – Music Export Ukraine. 

Music performers and specialists in the music sector who publicly support or have supported the following are not allowed to participate in the selection: 

• in 2014 the temporary occupation of the Crimean peninsula and part of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions or violated the Procedure for entry into and exit from the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine, approved by the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated June 4, 2015 No. 367 
• in 2022, a full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine
