Artists are invited to explore themes such as:

• ecology, the impact of environmental disasters, as well as processes of recovery and reinterpretation, including the legacy of Chornobyl (Indonesia)
• Ukrainian mythology related to nature, and reinterpretations of imagery from The Forest Song by Lesya Ukrainka (India)

Important

Selected projects will be implemented in collaboration with local artists. Therefore:

• proposals must demonstrate openness to collaboration
• consideration of intercultural context is essential
• teams will be formed as follows:

– Ukraine + Austria + India

– Ukraine + Austria + Indonesia

• applications may be submitted individually or in collaboration with artists from Austria, India, or Indonesia

Application requirements

In the application form, applicants must:

• select the country of implementation:
  -India
  -Indonesia
• submit the following materials:
• project concept description (250–400 words)
• visual materials (sketches / references)
• CV or portfolio
• motivation letter
• estimated project budget

Eligibility criteria

• minimum age: 18
• English proficiency at B2 level or higher
• willingness to engage in public communication and present artistic practice
• professional experience, preferably with a demonstrated interest in ecology and intercultural dialogue
• formal art education and/or other professional training is an advantage but not required
• readiness to undergo visa procedures

What we offer

• travel costs covered
• accommodation provided during the implementation period
• artist fee: €600
• production budget: €2000

We remain open to discussing the budget depending on the scale, complexity, and specifics of the project.

Selected applicants will be notified on May 4, 2026. 
The selection committee will include representatives of the Ukrainian Institute, the Austrian Cultural Forum, and partner organizations in India and Indonesia.
