Opportunity for literary translators

We announce the start of application submission to take part in BCLT Summer School –  an online school for writers and translators (Great Britain).

The BCLT Summer School run by the British Centre for Literary Translation in partnership with the National Centre for Writing, brings together writers and translators from around the world for a one-week programme of hands-on translation and creative writing practice

In 2022, the Ukrainian Institute becomes a partner of the school and gives the opportunity to 10 translators to join the workshop on translation from Ukrainian into English free of charge. The Ukrainian workshop strand is organised in partnership with the Ukrainian Institute, as part of the programme UK/Ukraine Season of Culture 2022.

The Ukrainian workshop strand is led by Olena Jennings, writer and translator. Participants of the Ukrainian workshop will translate excerpts from Artem Cheh’s novel “Who Are You?” published by Meridian Czernowitz. The author will take part in the workshop, joining in the discussion and answering questions about the text.

BCLT Summer School will be held July 18-22, 2022 online. You can submit the application form and find out the requirements on the programme website. Application deadline: April 19, 2022, 23:59 (UTC + 01) / 22:59 (Kyiv time).
