Special Screening of 2000 Meters to Andriivka in Jakarta
On February 27, a special screening of the film 2000 Meters to Andriivka took place in Jakarta, Indonesia, commemorating the fourth anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. The event was organized jointly by KlikFilm, the Ukrainian Institute, and the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Indonesia.
The film is the second feature by director and journalist Mstyslav Chernov, an Oscar, Pulitzer, and BAFTA awardee. It depicts the assault on the village of Andriivka by the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade on the Bakhmut front in 2023.
Following the screening, a lively discussion was held with Yulia Kovalenko, Program Director of Docudays UA, during which the audience asked many questions about the war and Ukrainian documentary cinema. The event highlighted genuine interest in and support for Ukraine in Indonesia.
Additionally, Yulia Kovalenko met with students from Binus University and Universitas Multimedia Nusantara, and held discussions with representatives of the local film industry.
