This marks the first cooperation between the Ukrainian Institute, the festival’s organizers – Java Festival Production, and the Embassy of Ukraine in Indonesia. 

Ahead of the festival, on May 31 at 6:00 PM, the quartet will also perform at a special evening concert, Ukrainian Jazz Night, held at the Goethe-Institut Jakarta. The event is organized in cooperation with the Goethe-Institut and the Embassy of Ukraine in Indonesia. 

The program will feature original compositions alongside Ukrainian and Crimean Tatar songs arranged in jazz style. The performers include: 

• Usein Bekirov – a renowned Crimean Tatar jazz pianist and composer, known for his work in funk, fusion, and ethno-jazz. He has collaborated with notable international artists such as Barry Brenhard, Randy Brecker, Dennis Chambers, Mike Stern (USA), Hadrien Feraud (France), Sarp Maden (Turkey), Dennis Adu, and others. 

• Ivan Lokhmanyuk – one of the leading bass players in the Usein Bekirov Quintet. Since 2023, he has been teaching at the Mykola Lysenko Lviv National Music Academy. 

• Viktor Pavelko – a jazz saxophonist and composer, author of numerous compositions and arrangements. He teaches at the Lviv National Music Academy and the R. M. Glier Kyiv Municipal Academy of Music. He was named Best Tenor Saxophonist in 2009 by Do#Dj magazine. 

• Artur Frolov – one of Ukraine’s top contemporary drummers, originally from Donetsk. He was named Best Drummer at the international MuzTorg competition in 2009 and 2010 and won 1st place at the DOJ jazz competition. He currently serves as a senior lecturer at the Mykola Lysenko Lviv National Music Academy.
