Ukrainian programme at Slovakia’s largest festival – Pohoda Festival
This year, Ukraine was represented by the band ONUKA, whose performance was supported by the Ukrainian Institute. Thousands gathered at the main stage to see the iconic DakhaBrakha, while the energetic Hudaki Village Band took over another stage, and DJ Daria Kolomiec closed the festival with her set on the final day.
The programme also featured a panel discussion titled ‘Ukraine as inspiration’, with speakers including Iryna Lobanok, Music Programme Manager at the Ukrainian Institute; Maryana Mokrynska, COO at the All-Ukrainian Association of Music Events; Nataliia Buzovetska, Director of the House of Culture in Borodianka; and Daria Kolomiec, cultural activist, music producer, and DJ. The discussion focused on the role of culture in times of war, the need for long-term international support, and the challenges and strengths of the Ukrainian music scene.
Pohoda is Slovakia’s largest music and arts festival, attracting over 30,000 visitors and more than 160 performers from around the world. Since 2014, it has been an active supporter of Ukraine, promoting Ukrainian culture through the inclusion of our artists, special projects in Slovakia, and charitable fundraising initiatives.
