Ukrainian Symphonic Miniature Anthology

Ukrainian Symphonic Miniature Anthology

The Anthology aims to present symphonic miniatures that span the history of Ukrainian symphonism, from its origins to the present day. These short, vivid pieces have been carefully selected to ensure they can be seamlessly included in a symphony orchestra performance, either as a striking opening to a concert or as an encore. They also form a cohesive programme, suitable for performance in a single concert.

About the Anthology

The collection features 11 scores by ten composers, representing various styles, movements, and eras: classicism, romanticism, modernism, impressionism, neo-folklore, neo-romanticism, and more. The works of each composer are printed in separate booklets, and all ten music scores are collected in a folder containing the following materials:

The instrumental parts can be downloaded on this page.

Each score is also accompanied by musicological annotations by Dr. Liubov Kyianovska, in three languages: Ukrainian, English, and German. The texts explore the composers’ life and career paths and include an analysis of the works featured in the collection.
