Jazz from Ukraine in Estonia   

The Ukrainian duo Koloah & Dennis Adu will perform at the largest Baltic jazz festivalJazzkaar 2023 in Tallinn.

The collaboration between electronic musician Koloah (Dmytro Avksentiev) and trumpet player Dennis Adu was born in 2020. Their performance at the openning ceremony of Europe Jazz Network Conference in 2022 was definitely a highlight of the programme.

The Kyiv-based, temporarily displaced producer and rave hero Koloah significantly impacted the Ukrainian electronic scene. For more than a decade, his musical path has taken him through a cross-section of underground, famous clubs and parties. 

Dennis Adu is a leading jazz trumpet player, composer, and arranger in Ukraine. Since 2012 he leads the Quintet, Sextet, Septet, and Big Band. He played with Ku-umba Frank Lacy, Gregory Porter, Curtis Fuller, Jim Rotondi, and others. 

Tallinn International Festival Jazzkaar is one of the name cards of Estonian culture and the biggest jazz festival of the Baltic states, taking place since 1990. The ten-day festival Jazzkaar is the most visited festival in Estonia where over 3000 foreign artists from 60 countries have performed. Jazzkaar has been named among the top festivals in Europe and has freshly been certified with the EFFE stamp of quality for 2015-2016 and 2017-2018.
