New capacity building program Resonate UA for young musicians and music managers

Resonate UA is a 20-week-long online training programme designed to support emerging Ukraine artists and music managers in expanding their global reach, though online seminars, workshops and coaching from international experts. Topics will include industry know-how, export strategies, digital communication and international promotion. 

The programme will be offered four times during two years, the first one starting January 2025. 

The first course round focuses on artists and managers in the jazz field. 15 participants will be chosen for this course round, of which 6 will be included in the advanced programme. 

The programme contains: 

  • Weekly online seminars teaching you how to navigate the global music market, build a successful career, and effectively promote your music internationally. 
  • Networking opportunities in online arenas designed for meeting and connecting with industry professionals. 
  • Community-building activities where you are able to initiate collaborations and exchange ideas with peers within the music community. 
     
    For Advanced Participants: 
  • Promotional images taken by a professional photographer to enhance your personal brand and showcase your music in the best light possible. 
  • A study visit to jazzahead!, one of the world’s leading events for the jazz community, offering a chance to connect with the global jazz scene and meet with industry professionals in person. 
  • Personalized coaching on branding, PR, and export strategy, helping you fine-tune your approach to international promotion. 

Applicant Requirements: 

  • Applying musicians should be aged 20-35 and part of an established export-ready act, meaning music and performances of a professional standard, with the ambition to expand their career internationally. 
  • Applying music managers may be in the beginning of their careers or established but new to the field of jazz. 
  • Applicants may be music academy students, post-graduates or self-taught musicians and music managers. 
  • The programme is given in English and therefore requires an at least intermediary level of English. 
  • Participants are expected to take part in all scheduled events. However, in case of technical difficulties due to the ongoing war, all online lectures will be recorded, available for viewing at a later time. 
  • Participants in the advanced programme must be able to travel to Bremen, Germany to visit jazzahead! on April 23-26 2025.

You apply via an online form, that you will find if you click the button below. Deadline for applications is December 20. Only one member per music group is eligible for the programme. Should you be chosen, you will be notified in early January 2025.

This call for applications is made possible by the Ukrainian Institute and the Swedish musician’s organisation Musikcentrum Öst, in partnership with Ukrainian academies R.Glier Kyiv Municipal Academy of Music and I.P. Kotlyarevsky Kharkiv National University of Arts, with funding from the Swedish Institute.
