Presentation of Ukrainian filmmakers at the industrial events of the Sarajevo Film Festival
Purpose of the project
The purpose of the event is to popularise Ukrainian culture among the foreign professional community and strengthen the capacity of representatives of the Ukrainian film industry for international cooperation, increase the recognition of Ukrainian cinematographers and workers in the field of cinema and promote their integration into the world context.
Results of the project
As a result of the selection of participants, two Ukrainian directors of feature and/or documentary film received an opportunity for professional development within the framework of the festival’s industrial events. They presented their projects in development to the most influential international experts in the field of cinematography and through networking established professional contacts for further international cooperation with the aim of promoting Ukrainian film products abroad. Meet the directors:
- Maria Stoyanova with the project “Fragments of Ice”;
- Marysya Nikityuk with the project “Lo”
Two representatives of the Ukrainian film industry got the opportunity to work in the team of the Sarajevo Film Festival, and increased their professional level and expertise in the field of the international film industry. They were Kateryna Yaniuk and Maryna Shuh.

About the Sarajevo Film Festival
The Sarajevo Film Festival is the largest film festival in the Balkans and one of the largest in Europe. It was founded in Sarajevo in 1995, when the city was under siege during the Bosnian War. The first festival was held in 1996. The biggest award at the festival is the “Heart of Sarajevo” award.
