This year marks the 130th anniversary of the birth of composer Borys Liatoshynsky. The Ukrainian Institute supports a number of important projects involving Ukrainian musicians who present his legacy to the world.
Ukrainian Chamber Music Anthology
The central initiative is the Anthology of Liatoshynsky’s Chamber Works, set to be published in autumn 2025. It will feature all of the composer’s string quartets, brought together for the first time in a complete edition. During his lifetime, these works were performed beyond Ukraine and ranked among the most popular in Europe. This current publication restores them to the international repertoire, placing the Ukrainian tradition and Liatoshynsky‘s name as an integral part of the European cultural context.
