Open call for Ukrainian musicians to attend Reeperbahn Showcase Festival in Hamburg
Ukrainian musicians will perform on the leading world music showcase festivals and meet music industry professionals within the EXTRA SOUND programme developed by the Ukrainian Institute.

The program aims to boost Ukraine's presence in the international music community.
An open call has been launched for one of the largest European showcase festivals — Reeperbahn Festival. that is held in Reeperbahn, the famous district of Hamburg. The festival to be held on 22-25 September in Hamburg, Germany. This is the first time Ukrainian delegation presents local artists in the official music programme.

"Participation in the world showcase festivals open for Ukrainian musicians an opportunity to reach the international audience. Moreover, it provides a powerful platform for the development and interaction with music industry professionals. Showcases offer numerous educational activities, as well as invite to discuss the latest industry trends. Annually, influential booking agents, music festival programme managers, owners of music periodicals, record label executives come here to meet new names and promising music projects", explains Svitlana Lenchenko, Music Programme Manager at the Ukrainian Institute.

Annually, the Reeperbahn Festival gathers over 250 bands and musicians from all over the world. Furthermore, the programme includes sessions, networking events, meetings, showcases, and awards shows. Music Programme Manager Ciara George-Lynch invites to join the festival: "Reeperbahn Festival combines a diverse line-up of new, international talents with a programme comprising of a wide range of themes in a progressive music marketplace. We are very happy to be welcoming upcoming Ukraine artist this year. You will get the chance to present your band in front of leading global music industry professionals with companies spanning from recording, publishing and touring, as well as our festival audience with its many international visitors. Two musicians representing Ukraine will be chosen by the partnering festival' managers together with the Ukrainian Institute. More about opportunities and requirements read on the programme's page. Deadline for open call is 20th April.

In 2021, the EXTRA SOUND programme is organised in partnership with the House of Europe, an EU-funded programme fostering professional and creative exchange between Ukrainians and their colleagues in EU countries and the United Kingdom.

A partner of the showcase is Music Export Ukraine. This year we will present our local talents in Germany, one of the biggest music markets in the world.
