Програма літературних зустрічей за кордоном

Crossroads is a long-term programme by the Ukrainian Institute dedicated to the systematic promotion of Ukrainian literature abroad.

About the programme

These events bring Ukrainian writers together with foreign readers, publishers, and present or future translators, initiating dialogue and sustained exchange for mutual understanding and partnership.

Each year, the project takes place in one city within a priority geography country. The events feature Ukrainian authors and local public intellectuals, thought leaders, and experts.

We present translated works of Ukrainian literature, discuss topics relevant to both countries, and create conditions for professional networking among Ukrainian authors, foreign publishers, and translators.

Events are held in various locations in order to engage a broader local audience, foster partnerships with local institutions and literary festivals.

Crossroads in Wrocław, 2024

In autumn 2024, a series of meetings took place in Wrocław with Ukrainian writers Anastasia Levkova, Iryna Tsilyk, Marichka Paplauskaite, and Pavlo Kazarin. The project was initiated by the Ukrainian Institute and implemented in partnership with the Kolegium Europy Wschodniej im. Jana Nowaka‑Jeziorańskiego we Wrocławiu.

Crossroads in Berlin, 2023

Participants included Oksana Zabuzhko, Sofia Andrukhovych, Andriy Lyubka, Iryna Tsilyk, Artem Chekh, Kateryna Mishchenko, and Irina Kilimnik.
