Oleksandr Lebedenko

Oleksandr Lebedenko is a well-known talented Ukrainian jazz drummer, who took up arms to defend Ukraine in front of Russia’s full-scale war. Being passionate about jazz and the world of music, he studied percussion at the Kharkiv School of Music, named after B.M. Lyatoshynskyi. Oleksandr later graduated from Kharkiv I. Kotlyarevsky National University of Arts and became a professional percussionist and teacher. 

Having no limitations in music genres one of the most sought-after Ukrainian musicians played with numerous Ukrainian pop music stars among them Ukrainian singer Zlata Ognevich. Oleksandr has also created his own legendary Ukrainian jazz band East-Side where he used to perform between the grand concerts. He is a laureate of numerous international jazz festivals in Ukraine, Finland, Sweden, Germany, Spain, Great Britain, Lithuania, Latvia and Poland, including the jazz festival-competition of the best young performers of Europe Getxo-Jazz in 2001. Oleksandr appeared in almost forty concerts of Jazzography portal in just six years. 

In February 2022, musician decided to put his professional life on hold and went to defend Kyiv.
