Volodymyr Ponomaryov

Volodymyr Ponomaryov is a famous Ukrainian classical musician, violist and laureate of international competitions. Graduating from the Ukrainian National Tchaikovsky Academy of Music he later became an artist of the viola group of the National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine.

In addition to creative cooperation with many other groups, Volodymyr leads the folklore band Veseli Vujky and the world music band Kyiv Ethno trio that has performed their compositions at European ethno festivals. Together they released three discs and presented their first album at festivals in Belgium and Germany. Their music immerses listeners in the atmosphere of ancient and modern Ukrainian music.

From the first days of the full-scale invasion Volodymyr decisively took arms in his hands and joined in the ranks of the Territorial Defense Forces. Later, he decided to join the infantry of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Transferred to the orchestra, Volodymyr continues to inspire Ukrainians with his incredible performance of classical music.
