The Ukrainian Institute will continue its partnership with Eurimages for the proMOTION programme in 2025
In 2024, the proMOTION programme was fully implemented in partnership with Eurimages. Throughout the year, an international evaluation committee conducted three open calls, selecting 7 film projects to receive up to 8000 euros each for promoting their films abroad.
In 2025, the sixth edition of the proMOTION programme for systematic support of international promotion of Ukrainian cinema, developed by the Ukrainian Institute, will take place.
This year, three open calls are also planned throughout the calendar year, involving international experts in the evaluation process of film projects. In total, up to seven feature-length film projects may be supported.
The schedule for open calls will be announced later.
The proMOTION programme gives Ukrainian filmmakers an opportunity to join the world practice of film promotion, partnering with international experts to develop promotional campaigns and developing a network with foreign partners, thus increasing the visibility of their film projects on the international market.
Eurimages is the cultural support fund of the Council of Europe, the continent’s leading human rights organisation. Active since 1989, Eurimages promotes independent filmmaking by providing financial support for the co-production of feature-length fiction, animation and documentary films.
The Ukrainian Institute is a state institution that represents Ukrainian culture in the world and forms a positive image of Ukraine abroad. The Institute was founded by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine in 2017 and is under the control of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
