Open Call for Ukrainian producers to participate in the Finnish Film Affair industry event of the Helsinki International Film Festival (Finland)

The Ukrainian Institute, together with the Ukrainian Association in Finland and in partnership with the Finnish Film Affair, announces an open call for Ukrainian producers to participate in industry event of the Helsinki International Film FestivalLove & Anarchy.

Based on the selection results, up to three Ukrainian producers (fiction and documentary films) will be able to visit the Finnish Film Affair as invited guests of the event and establish contacts with representatives of the Finnish and Scandinavian film industries. 

Selected participants will also be featured in the programme guide and on the Finnish Film Affair website. The Ukrainian Association in Finland will provide the costs of participating in the programme. 

To participate, producers must send a motivation letter and their CV in English to [email protected]. 

Applications are accepted until July 30 (inclusive). 

Producers must meet the following selection criteria 

  • Ukrainian citizenship;   
  • minimum age 18;   
  • fluency in English;   
  • readiness for public communication;   
  • impeccable business reputation;   
  • Proven professional experience: Producers who have produced at least 1 feature film as the main producer, which have been officially selected for international film festivals or released in theaters/streaming platforms, and also have projects in development, are eligible to participate in the competition.   
  • the activity and position of the applicant does not contradict the principles and values of the UI.     

The selection results will be announced in early August.  

The Finnish Film Affair is the industry event of Helsinki International Film Festival – Love & Anarchy and an international showcase of Finnish and Nordic films. Organised since 2012, approximately 500 film industry professionals from around the world attend the event each year. The festival will take place from 14 to 29 September, while the Finnish Film Affair will take place from 20-22 September in Helsinki. 

*Ukrainian Institute will assist in obtaining documents for short-term travel of participants abroad to participate in the programme, but does not guarantee obtaining such permission.
