Український Тиждень у Гданську
On 7-16 November, Gdansk will host Ukrainian week, offering to visitors a variety of concerts, performances, film screenings, art installations and many more.
The Ukrainian Institute developed the theatrical and jazz programme of the festival in cooperation with the Consulate of Ukraine in Gdansk, which initiated this annual festival four years ago.
The festival will be opened with the performance “The Little Match Girl Passion”. It is the theatrical and musical performance based on the work by David Lang and with the participation of the vocal ensemble “Alter Ratio”.
The Polish viewer also will be able to see two other Ukrainian performances:
APOLLO – November 9 – The story of artists and the space journey which is presented in a plastic performance based on Igor Stravinsky’s ballet Apollon musagète.
Fall on Pluto – November 10 – by Sashko Brama Independent Theatrical Project, is a documentary based on conversations with residents of the geriatric boarding house.
The headliner of the festival is the female freak cabaret Dakh Daughters, which also opened this year’s “Ukrainian Weeks in Bavaria” with the support of the Ukrainian Institute.
